What this tool computes
Give it both sets of birth details and it builds both charts from actual planetary positions, then scores the match. All eight kootas of Ashtakoota, out of thirty-six. The mangal dosha check on each chart. The cancellation rules that fire, each named with its source. And then it does the whole of that five times over, once under each of five documented schools, and prints them side by side. What comes back is not a verdict but five verdicts, with every point on which they disagree stated openly.
The part usually left unsaid
Most matching pages return one number and never name the school it came from. The school is a setting. Change it and the arithmetic changes: which houses count for mangal dosha, which point Mars is judged from, which cancellations are admitted, which tara convention is used. Measured across all 11,664equally weighted possible pairings, 56.4% trigger a tested difference or veto across the combined census checks. This is not simply the proportion receiving opposite final school verdicts.
Mangal dosha is measured separately, because it needs real planetary positions, and it diverges harder still: 61.4% of charts in a census of 2000 were flagged by one school and left clean by another. The cause is not mainly the house list. Swapping house lists moves the flagged rate by about 3 points. Changing the reference point Mars is judged from moves it by about 29.
What the result means, and what it does not
Five scores describe what five methodologies conclude. They are not five predictions, and nothing here is capable of telling you how a marriage will go. A high total means the pairing satisfies a scoring system that most pairings satisfy — 66.7% of all possible pairings reach the conventional eighteen-point line. Where the five agree, that agreement is a solid fact about the two charts. Where they split, the split is the finding, and it is the part worth carrying back to whoever gave the original verdict.
Which of the five is the correct one?
None of them holds authority over the others. They descend from different texts and different regions, and each is used in earnest by practitioners today. The question that can be answered is narrower and more useful: which school produced the verdict your family received, and whether that verdict survives when the other four are run on the same two charts.
How precise do the birth times need to be?
Precise enough matters differently for different findings. The kootas move only when the Moon crosses a pada boundary, which takes hours. The ascendant can shift within minutes, and mangal dosha judged from the ascendant shifts with it. Where a finding would flip under a small change of time, the report says so. The sampled Sun-through-Saturn positions differed from the JPL reference by at most 0.44 arcseconds in our validation. That measurement does not verify the birth record or every chart element.
What if we do not have a reliable birth time for one of us?
Then the eight kootas can still be scored from the two birth stars alone, which is what the guna milan tool does. What is lost without a time is the ascendant, and with it the mangal dosha check and the dasha periods.
