The full 27 × 27 nakshatra compatibility grid
Every nakshatra pairing scored and browsable in one table. Not a summary of a chart — the chart itself.

Every one of the 27 × 27 pairings, scored out of 36. Read down for the bride’s birth star and across for the groom’s.
Pada 1 is used throughout. Pada changes some kootas, so treat a cell as the pairing’s shape rather than an exact score — the calculator gives the exact one.

What this tool computes
Every one of the twenty-seven birth stars scored against every other, seven hundred and twenty-nine cells, each one the full eight-koota total out of thirty-six. It is not a summary of a matching chart. It is the chart, published whole, so a score can be read in the company of every other score rather than on its own.
The one thing the grid cannot show
Padas. Each nakshatra divides into four quarters, and the quarter decides which moon sign the star falls in. Four of the eight kootas — varna, vashya, graha maitri and bhakoot — read the moon sign rather than the star. So two people born under the same nakshatra, one quarter apart, can score differently against the same partner.
A table that carried every quarter would have 11,664 cells, which is the entire population of ordered nakshatra-pada pairings and a page nobody could load or read. This grid uses the first pada as the representative of each star and says so plainly. Treat a cell as the star-level shape of a pairing, not as a verdict on two people.
Your own total can sit a few points either side of your cell, and the difference is the pada.
What the result does and does not mean
Read across a row and what dominates is the star-level kootas: nadi, gana, yoni and tara account for twenty-one of the thirty-six points between them, and they are fixed by the stars alone. That is why rows have visible structure — blocks of high cells and blocks of low ones — rather than looking like noise.
What the grid gives a reader is a denominator. The mean total across every possible pairing is 20.1, and 66.7% clear the conventional accept line of eighteen. A cell is high or low relative to that, and a number without that context is not really a number yet.
What it is not is a shortlist. The table describes how a scoring system treats pairs of birth stars. It makes no claim about anyone’s marriage, and we do not make one either.
Is the grid symmetric?
No. Varna asks that the groom’s class be equal to or higher than the bride’s, and tara is counted from each star to the other. Reversing the two can change the total, so read the axis labels rather than assuming the table mirrors across its diagonal.
Why does my report’s score not match my cell?
Two usual reasons. The first is the pada, as above. The second is the school: the traditions we compare differ on tara direction, on vashya scoring, on the graha maitri scale and on which cancellations apply, and a report will have used one of them. The grid is computed under a single stated configuration.
Why do so many cells lose the same koota?
Because several kootas fail structurally rather than unusually. Three nadis divide twenty-seven stars, so a shared nadi comes up in 33.3% of pairings, and six of the twelve possible rashi distances raise bhakoot, giving 50%. Those bands in the table are arithmetic showing through, not a run of bad luck.
